Overdrive Herbicide now registered for control of Kochia & Volunteer canola

MISSISSAUGA, ON, November 24, 2015 -- BASF Canada Inc. (BASF) has received the certificate of registration for the control of Kochia, Volunteer canola and Perennial sowthistle (suppression) by Overdrive® Herbicide in professional vegetation management.

Since its introduction, professional applicators have come to appreciate Overdrive for its fast burndown of a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds and for its ease of use. The addition of Kochia and Volunteer canola control, as well as Perennial sowthistle, will immediately strengthen Overdrive’s position as a key weed management tool.

In recent years, Group 2 and Group 9 tolerant Kochia and Volunteer canola have spread across much of the Prairies. A 2012 field study by Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada revealed that Overdrive was one of the most effective options for control of Group 2 & 9 resistant Kochia (Glyphosate-resistant kochia, Blackshaw et al, 2012).
